Zamo Shongwe joined IkamvaYouth as National Coordinator in 2011. She brings a wealth of experience to the IkamvaYouth and is bubbling with enthusiasm and ideas. Zamo started her career in media and journalism taking on the roles of producer, editor, researcher, reporter, reviewer and even scriptwriter for various projects before branching into management where she has gone from strength to strength. She has been based with South Africa Norway Tertiary Education Development Programme (SANTED) since 2003, where she was highly valued as project manager. SANTED assists the Department of Education in the transformation of the Higher Education sector, so has a significant alignment with Ikamva’s goals to redress education in South Africa. Currently she is developing her knowledge and skills further with a course in International Relations and Diplomacy at UNISA.
