Career Guidance workshops
IkamvaYouth's career guidance workshops are provided to learners in grades 9 – 12 and cover a range of topics, including:
- Fields of study in tertiary education
- Tertiary institutions
- Financial aid
- Different careers and industries
Through the Career Guidance workshops, learners begin to plan for their post-school lives. By building a deeper understanding of potential post-school opportunities and the eligibility requirements, they can plan to get the grades and financial aid they need to access them. The Career Guidance programme helps learners to make informed decisions about their futures.
The Careers Indaba provides an opportunity for learners to interact with professionals from a range of fields and find out about what different careers really entail. Various tertiary institutions, bursary and scholarship schemes and SETAs have stands and/or give presentations to learners and hand out information brochures and application forms.
Ikamvanites go places! The Career Guidance field trips take learners to a range of places, to broaden their experience and understanding of life after school. These include:
- Open days at tertiary institutions
- Career Exhibitions
- Industrial / workplace visits
